- definition of the boundaries of urban areas and large villages;
- putting in order the addresses of urban settlements and larger rural settlements;
- compilation of the current cartographic material for the purposes of the Census;
- ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the current accounting of the population by place of residence;
- census zoning - division of the territory of cities, towns, urban type settlements, districts, rural settlements on census stations with assigned to them number of census personnel, equipment logistics, census instruments and so on;
- selection and training of census personnel.
The formation of a technological base for the processing of the population census results and corresponding software system.
